Why do tyres wear out?

Your tyres can wear out prematurely due to a number of factors:

The length of time and the conditions in which your vehicle is driven (speed, road conditions and heat)
Inadequate inflation (over or under inflation)
Poor balancing
A defective valve
A wrong alignment

Signs of tyre wear

Deformations or irregular wear of the tread
Cuts, cracks or buldges in the sidewall of your tyre
Longer braking distances
Vibrations in the steering wheel
Tendency of the vehicle to move to the left or right

Check your tyre pressure once a month and before all long journeys. The pressure recommended by the manufacturer for your vehicle is indicated in the driver's door opening and in the vehicle's owners manual.

Tyres that have bulges, cracking, cuts, foreign bodies or irregular wear should be checked by an approved repairer.

After 5 years, have your tyres systematically checked by a DS Expert, not forgetting the spare tyre.

Driving with winter tyres

To allow you to take on winter with total peace of mind, DS provides a large range of tyres that will ensure your vehicle is well equipped to drive in what can often be difficult weather conditions: snow, rain, fog, ice and black ice are some of the factors that can make driving dangerous.

The size, speed rating and load rating are determined by the Manufacturer. They are the result of the best balance in terms of safety, behaviour and performance for your DS.

Do not choose a tyre with a speed or load index lower than those approved by the Manufacturer. This is dangerous and prohibited by law.

The maximum load that the tyre can carry at maximum speed (indicated by the speed rating).

SPEED RATING

Maximum permissible speed to carry the load indicated by the load rating.

WEAR INDICATOR

The tread wear indicator can be found within the structure, in one of the main grooves.
